How does GPT-4 Turbo compare to previous language models?

Expanded Context Window: GPT-4 Turbo can process up to 128,000 tokens, about 300 pages of text. This is a substantial increase from GPT-4’s 8,000 tokens, equivalent to around 24 pages.
Updated Knowledge Base: The knowledge of GPT-4 Turbo is current up to April 2023, ensuring it includes the most recent information and events. This is a significant update from GPT-4, which only had information until September 2021. Users benefit from more accurate and timely content, especially in rapidly evolving fields.
Improved Cost Efficiency: GPT-4 Turbo offers a more affordable solution for developers, with the cost of inputs priced at just $0.01 per 1,000 tokens, and outputs also at $0.03 per 1,000 tokens. This pricing structure is about three times cheaper than GPT-4, making advanced AI more accessible for a broader range of applications.
Early Access and Availability: Developers can gain early access to GPT-4 Turbo by using the "gpt-4-1106-preview" in the API, with a full, stable production-ready model expected to launch soon. This preview phase allows developers to begin integrating and experimenting with the model, taking advantage of its enhanced capabilities in writing, mathematics, logical reasoning, and coding.
